Categories: Chinese styles of music | Pop music
C-pop is an abbreviation for Chinese pop. The term refers to Chinese popular music. Most Chinese pop comes from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Consequently, the lyrics of some Chinese pop is in Cantonese or Taiwanese, although most Chinese pop is in Mandarin Chinese because of the larger audience to which it reaches (see also Mandopop).
Chinese pop covers many styles such as rhythm and blues, slow jams, ballads, hip hop, and rock.
C-pop should not be confused with Cantopop, which is the Cantonese subset of Chinese pop.
A list of popular artists can be found in Category:Chinese musicians and Category:Chinese singers.
