Chanticleer is the name of a rooster in the fable Chanticleer and the Fox, one version of which is told in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.

Chanticleer is also the name of a male vocal ensemble with a wide repertoire that performs throughout the world. They first performed in 1978 and since have established a reputation for musical excellence.

Chanticleers are also the mascot of the Coastal Carolina University (CCU) Chanticleers located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina.
