Cry-Baby

Cry-Baby is a semi-musical cult movie of 1990 starring Johnny Depp as Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker, and also featuring Iggy Pop, Ricki Lake, and Traci Lords. It was written and directed by John Waters. It is a satire of 1950s musicals like West Side Story.

It centers on a group of 'juvenile delinquents' named the Drapes and their interaction with the rest of the town and the other sub-culture, the Squares, in 1950's Baltimore. "Cry-Baby" Walker, a Drape, and Allison, a Square, create upheaval and turmoil in their town by breaking the sub-culture taboo and falling in love. What follows is an exploration of sub-culture stereotypes.

Part of the film takes place at the now-closed Enchanted Forest amusement park in Ellicott City, Maryland.

It is rated PG-13.
