Eric Stefani (born June 15, 1967), is the older brother to Gwen Stefani, who created, along with John Spence, the band No Doubt. He had written the initial music and pressured Gwen to sing for their group, to which she eventually agreed. This was the birth of No Doubt that happened in December of 1986. Eric was on board with the band from their debut self-titled album up through the completion of Tragic Kingdom. In 1994, he left the band to continue his previous work in animation on the cartoon show The Simpsons. Eric is an avid drawing artist.
Not much for publicity in recent years, Eric Stefani still works in animation, and has contributed to independent projects. He designed the logo for the Ska Parade website, and in 1998 he surprisingly joined No Doubt in Hawaii when they opened for the group Madness, which was an early inspiration to Eric in creating No Doubt.
He has since quietly lived in the Los Angeles area, as do other Stefani siblings.
