Freddie Highmore (born February 14[1], 1992 in London, England) is an English child actor. His mother is a talent agent and Freddie began acting with small parts on TV. He won critical acclaim when he appeared as Peter in Finding Neverland, for which he was also nominated for several awards including a Screen Actors' Guild Award. He won a Broadcast Film Critics' Award for the role.
Freddie also plays the part of Charlie Bucket in the film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (adapted from the book by Roald Dahl). In both Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Finding Neverland he works with Johnny Depp, who recommended Highmore for the lead role in this last film after being so impressed by the young actor's performance in Finding Neverland.
Another notable role is young Raoul in Two Brothers directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud in which he acts together with a tiger cub. Shots with a full grown tiger were composed.
Freddie attends Highgate School, in North London.
