The Party of the Functional Groups (Indonesian: Partai Golongan Karya) is a political party in Indonesia, also known as Golkar (Sekretariat Bersama Golongan Karya, or Joint Secretariat of Functional Groups). It is currently led by Jusuf Kalla. He succeeded Akbar Tanjung during the party's convention in December 2004.
The organisation of Golkar and its success in the 1971 legislative elections was evident when it won over 62% of the vote.
Before 1999 it was the governing party under former president Suharto. In the 1999 legislative election, it captured 120 of 500 seats in the People's Representative Council (DPR), making it the second largest party.
At the last legislative elections, 5 april 2004, the party won 21.6% of the popular vote and 128 out of 500 seats.
