"Join Me in Death", also released as "Join Me", is a song by the Finnish band HIM. Featured initially on the album Razorblade Romance, it is the band's best-known song in Europe, released in 2000. This song made 'HIM' a household name in Europe after it was featured in the European sci-fi movie The Thirteenth Floor.
Two versions of the song's video exist, one for the movie, the other set as a vague Romeo and Juliet theme. The song was believed by many to be about suicide, but it was written by Ville Valo as a modern version of Romeo & Juliet, hence the lyrics "Would you die tonight for love?" Ville: "I think this is one of the weaker tracks on the album. The piano is nice, but maybe the song doesn't mean anything to me because it's not about real life. This is an old song-the first demo was done in January '98-and I've already gotten sick of it, because it's just the same simple thing over and over."
The song was also called the "Funny Song" by HIM for a while, jokingly, because they never thought it was that good of a song to boost them into such popularity.
"Join Me in Death" was included in the 2004 Resident Evil: Apocalypse soundtrack at track #12.
