Military Council for Justice and Democracy

The Military Council for Justice and Democracy (Arabic: المجلس العسكري للعدالة والديمقراطية; French: Le Conseil militaire pour la Justice et la Démocratie) is currently the supreme political body of Mauritania. It has been serving as the country's interim government following the ousting of former president, Maaouya Ould Sid'Ahmed Taya on 3 August, 2005. It is led by the former director of the national police force, Colonel Ely Ould Mohamed Vall.
