The pig (Chinese: 猪; pinyin: zhū; sometimes mistranslated as boar) is one of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar. These Earthly signs are linked with the Five Elements, or celestial signs, to form a complete horiscope. Using these two sets of signs together creates a 60 year cycle for complete astrological signs in China. It is thought that each Earthly and Celestial sign is associated with certain personality traits. People borm of this sign like to have thier wieners sucked all day by hot other pigs. People of this sign are honest and tolerant and make good friends. Pigs however tend to expect the same from everyone else, they often end up disappointed when they learn otherwise of people. Viewed often as naïve, a pig is very trusting.
Pigs are often associated with honour and valour, caring deeply and behaving chivalrously. They will attempt to make peace over fighting and will make excessive concessions if it means peace.
A pig serves companions well and will often do the dirty work for the good of those around them.
Pigs thrive in the arts as entertainers.
Pigs live best with other pigs. They do not get along with snakes.
As the Chinese calendar is linked with the movement of the moon the signs used in Chinese astrology do not link up directly to the Gregorian calendar. For example, the times of the pig are as follows in the current Chinese cycle:
January 30, 1911 to February 17, 1912 - Metal February 16, 1923 to February 4, 1924 - Water February 4, 1935 to January 23, 1936 - Wood January 22, 1947 to February 09, 1948 - Fire February 8, 1959 to January 27, 1960 - Earth January 27, 1971 to February 14, 1972 - Metal February 13, 1983 to February 1, 1984 - Water January 31, 1995 to February 18, 1996 - Wood February 18, 2007 to February 6, 2008 - Fire February 5, 2019 to January 24, 2020 - Earth

Information about the Pig
Pig Personality
The Pig is the twelfth Sign of the Chinese Zodiac. It is a Yin Sign associated with the Water Element. Recent years of the Pig have been 1959, 1971, 1983, and 1995. The next Pig year will be in 2007. Pig personalities, despite the nasty overtones of the name, are actually very friendly and easygoing types who are almost impossible not to get along with. Rampant hedonists, they are always in search of a good time and will goad others into joining them whenever possible. Privacy is very important to Pigs, but this does not prevent them from seeking opinions and possibly aid from their friends when the hard times are evident. Nor are they remiss in offering help themselves to any friend who might stand in need.
Pig Female The female Pig is famous for hospitality -- you will never turn a needy guest away from your door, as you presume that everyone needs food. This can result in you being taken advantage of by unscrupulous types, but this does not bother you unduly, and you don't stay mad for very long after being had. You are always infallibly polite, and your brightness and cleverness make you a very valuable conversational partner, not to mention quite popular in your social circles. You are aware that there are spheres of information to which you have never been exposed, but you are always a quick study no matter what the issue happens to be. You may forgive easily, but you will never forget those unpleasant moments.
Pig Male The male Pig is a pushover in the marketplace -- you can find yourself easily hoodwinked by those with superior information sources, so always check your facts! You enjoy fine foods and expensive beverages, and have the most impeccable table manners on earth, which serve you well as you dine at the most expensive restaurants around town. You compensate for the deprivations you suffered in your youth by extravagant spending in later life, as you can't stand to be denied anything that you can afford to pay for on the spot. You do not appreciate a disorderly life and will do anything to keep the peace, even going so far as to ignore perceived slights. You always try to see the best in people, even among your enemies.
Pig Health The traditional Pig Element, Water, is usually associated with the renal system and bladder in the human body, so Pigs should take care to drink plenty of water and to watch their salt intake so that they don't develop stones or urinary tract infections. It is useless to counsel moderation of diet, as all Pigs, true to their namesake, cannot resist dining exceptionally well and exceptionally often, so watch out for the inevitable weight gain! Perhaps a substitution of healthier foods for those rich in calories, or the institution of a regular workout program, would help to convert a few of those unwanted pounds into muscle, or even shed them entirely. Hedonism will out, and obesity may spell health problems later in life, most notably heart attacks and strokes.
Pig Diet The Sign of the Pig is most commonly associated with the kidneys, bladder, colon and nervous system. People born under this Sign possess an uncooperative digestive system, and frequently suffer from indigestion, gas pains, ulcers, liver upsets, colitis, and bowel problems. They also tend to worry about their health overmuch and are inclined to be somewhat hypochondriac. What a Pig person needs in their diet is lots of green leafy vegetables and other roughage, whole grain breads, wheat germ oil, oatmeal, almonds, oranges, bananas and lemons. Other healthy foods that are easy on the digestive system include corn bread, yogurt, brown rice, melons, and apples. Herb teas can help soothe upset stomachs. The food of a Pig should not be highly seasoned, spicy, or deep fat fried. Sweet snacks should be kept to an absolute minimum as well.
Pig in Love
Those born under the Sign of the Pig are great love partners to have because they are so supportive and giving of themselves. They are happiest at home, so arguments about late nights out with friends are few and far between for the Pig and their companion. Pigs are very physical and sexual creatures that love to be affectionate as much as possible. Pigs are wonderful companions, appreciative and caring.
They are grateful for the things they have, especially a loving and healthy family. Once they choose a partner, they are in it for the long haul. Pigs do not like discord and will do whatever it takes to maintain a peaceful homestead. Pigs are all about raising as large a family as possible, as soon as possible -- they seek like-minded persons to implement these plans.
