Porfirio Pepe Lobo

Porfirio "Pepe" Lobo Sosa is a Honduran politician. He was born in Trujillo in 1947 but grew up on a farm near Juticalpa Olancho Department. After attending Catholic school in Juticalpa he first furthered his studies in Tegucigalpa and then in a university in the United States, although he did attend a university in the former communist USSR. He became a Deputy in 1990. He was in charge of the Honduran Corporation for Forestry Development from 1990 to 1994. He is currently President of Congress, Lobo is an aspirant to be the National Party of Honduras's candidate for the November 2005 presidential election. He is known for offering a firm hand, and for being in favour of reintroducing the death penalty to Honduras.

Pepe made a good start to the election race, according to public opinion, due to his proposals on job creation and security.
