2.01 was the number of the third Soviet Space Shuttle.

It is often suggested that 2.01 was to be named 'Baikal', and irrelevant of whether or not this was true, the joke involving the name has often lead to a misconception that 2.01 did not exist. 2.01 definitely does exist, it is even on display in an Aviation museum in Sinsheim in Germany.

2.01's construction was not complete when the Soviet shuttle program was ended, so it remains in a partially completed state. sl:Raketoplan 2.01
