SNES Mouse

The SNES Mouse is a peripheral released in 1992 for Nintendo's Super Nintendo video game system (a.k.a. SNES). The device is shaped similar to a computer mouse. It features two purple buttons near the very top of it, and has a trackball on the bottom intended to be used on a mouse pad. There is a grey square on it, and the Nintendo logo is in the lower right section of it. To use the mouse, its connector must be plugged in to the second controller port of the SNES console. When it was introduced, the SNES mouse retailed for $59.95.

This device was originally designed for use with the game Mario Paint, and soon after its introduction several new titles were released with SNES mouse support. However, the SNES mouse did not see soaring sales; it was smaller than a regular computer mouse, and the cord was relatively short.
