Soil amendment
Categories: Soil science | Chemistry stubs
A soil amendment is any of a class of materials which are used to adjust the soil for increased fertility. The classifications can be mineral, such as lime to "sweeten" the soil, to make it less acidic (or sour), fertilizers, to add depleted plant nutrients, or material, such as clay, peat, sand, manure or compost. Sometimes a soil inoculant is added for legumes.
