The Metropolitan Borough of Stockport is a Metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester. It is named after its main town of Stockport but also includes neighboring towns such as Cheadle and Cheadle Hulme, Marple, Reddish and Romiley.

The present borough was created in 1974. The 2003 population estimate recorded a population of 282,532 in the borough.
