Sudanese dinar

The dinar is the currency of Sudan. Its ISO 4217 code is "SDD".

The dinar is divided into 10 Sudanese pounds, each of which is subdivided into 100 piastres. The dinar was introduced on June 8, 1992 replacing the pound as a base unit. The currency is pegged to the Libyan dinar at around 200 Sudanese dinars to the Libyan dinar. In January 2005, there were 255.950 Sudanese dinars to the US dollar, or 336.173 to the euro.
