Teenybopper music

The collective Musical Genres of Dance, Hip Hop, Pop,Rap and RnB can be described as Teenybopper Music because Teenyboppers listen to such musical generes. Teenybopper music is usually quite cheerful and upbeat, much like the teenyboppers themselves. The music style is often criticised for being "manufactured" and lacking talent.

The term is typically used in an offensive context, where it implies immaturity and lack of sophisticated musical taste. The term also has connotations of conformity of musical taste, implying that teenyboppers will listen to whatever is popular at the time rather than making their own choice. Another reason they listen to such music is because they idolise the artists that sing it.

Most music stores such as HMV have large collections of such music but most of it is broadcast on TV channels such as MTV and TMF. These channels target teenyboppers almost exclusively. The music produced by the winners of Reality TV shows such as American Idol and its variants to this date is all teenybopper music. There are few independent artists who target teenyboppers.
