Telford and Wrekin is a borough in the West Midlands region of England. It was created in 1974 as The Wrekin, a district of Shropshire.

On April 1, 1998 it became a unitary authority, independent from Shropshire County Council. The headquarters of the council are in Telford Town Centre. It remains inside the Shropshire ceremonial county though.
