Ten is Pearl Jam's first album, released on August 27, 1991 through Epic Records. The name is the number of NBA player Mookie Blaylock, of whom Pearl Jam's members are fans.

In 1998 Q magazine readers voted Ten the 54th greatest album of all time; in 2003 the TV network VH1 placed it at number 79. It is number 207 on the List of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

While the song "Black" charted #3 on the Mainstream Rock charts, it was never actually released as a single.

In 2001-2002, Staind covered "Black" during the Break The Cycle tour.
