Blisse History
Under the name Blisse, they recorded a six song EP in 2000, and made enough money to cut their first album entitled When the World is Wonderful which was released independently in 2001. In 2002 they released a live concert DVD filmed at a local Dallas club named "The Door".
The Afters History
Eventually, they found out that someone else had the same band name, and decided that a change was needed. They settled on 'The Afters' as their new name, and continued to play local Dallas clubs. They were eventually discovered and signed to a record label (Simple/INO Records). After this signing, word of the band got to Epic Records, and they signed The Afters to a 4 record deal. Their first national album, I Wish We All Could Win was released on Feburary 22, 2005. The first single from the album was the song 'Beautiful Love' of which a video was made. This song was written by Joshua Havens about his wife when she was away on a trip and he couldn't reach her.
The Afters then went out on tour in the spring and summer of 2005 around the US playing with such bands as MercyMe and Duran_Duran.
