Trinidad Cabañas was President of Honduras from March 1, 1852 until October 18, 1855. He was born on June 9, 1805 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Loyal to Francisco Morazán he took up arms in support of an independent Central America state in 1827. He then became both a Minister in the government of and head of the National Congress in El Salvador. His vice-President José Santiago Bueso removed him from power. He died on January 8 1871 in Comayagua.
